ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Business Owner [with my husband]. Davis Model A Modifications. Colleyville, TX. 10/88-Present.
* Using MYOB (Mind Your Own Business) software, I record sales and expense records, pay sales taxes, and keep inventory records. Through the program, I access and print balance sheets and Profit and Loss statements. I also maintain the company website Kendavismodela.com, design advertising flyers and business cards, and interface with customers regionally, nationally, and internationally. Davis Model A Modifications is a small mail order business we run out of our home. My husband designs and fabricates air conditioners, 6 and 12 volt alternators, and modern shock kits for Model A Fords. Initially, our business entailed a 35-page catalog; however, as I began my academic studies, we sold off our catalog business and scaled down our inventory.
- Associate Editor. Descant, a Publication of Texas Christian University. 2012 / 2013.
* Using Microsoft Publisher, I designed the journal’s publication and transcribed poems, short stories, and authors’ biographies.
Using Microsoft Excel, I maintained billing, receivables, and communication records, mailing databases, journal submissions, and general office record keeping. Using Microsoft Word, I corresponded with all submitters and notified authors when their submissions were rejected or accepted. I worked with the printer and the TCU mailroom in getting journals printed and mailed.
